Checking for content string found or not found

You can set up an alert to be notified if a particular content string is found or not found on the page during the check cycle. This allows you to get an alert if the page doesn't load fully or if there is an error.

These are configured as alerts on each check (or on the group level) so you can create multiple alerts for different strings.

  1. Click Services on the left menu
  2. Click through to the map view for the check you want to set up the alert for
  3. Click the Alerting tab
  4. Create a new alert and pick "service . content" from the "Metric" drop menu
  5. Choose the comparison option e.g. does not contain and then provide the string you want us to check for

Please note we have a limit on page size, so anything past the first 250kb of content won't be checked. Service checks also won't follow redirects, so make sure the configured URL contains the content you're looking to monitor.
