Depending on your setup there are a number of options for sending data to us where you have restricted internet access.
This article is for our v1 agent and will soon be deprecated. See proxies for v2 agent
- If your servers have public outbound internet access on port 443 (HTTPS) then you don't need to do anything special. The agent only posts outbound on that port so that will work out of the box.
- If your servers have no direct outbound access but access the internet via a proxy, the agent can be configured to use your proxy. This is configured depending on whether you are on Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X or Windows.
- If your servers have no internet access at all, you can install our proxy forwarding service on one server within your firewall which does have internet access. All the other servers will direct their agents to post back to the forwarding proxy and then that forwards the data on to us. sd-proxy is officially supported and available free as part of the product
